Shooting the CRAZY EDDIE TV COMMERCIALS 1970s — Jay Dubin - Producer / Director |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
While attending Pratt Institute for drawing and painting Chris began assisting film student Jay Dubin, who was producing and directing TV commercials. Chris quickly became Dubins cameraman on every film and video shoot. The very first Crazy Eddie TV commercial "Bathroom Song" was filmed in the mens room at Pratts main building in its Bed-Stuy campus. Chris shot hundreds of TV spots with Jay and Jerry, whose hyperactive spokesman became so identified with Crazy Eddie that many viewers assumed he was the owner of the company. In 1977 when “Saturday Night Fever” hit theaters Jay Dubin dreamed up the “Crazy Eddie Disco Fever” spot. When Christopher Reeve made his appearance as "Superman" in 1978 the “Super-Eddie” spot was born. After several years CE had over 40 stores. |
